Are There Really Different Kinds of Software?
In the early days of software development nearly everything was written from scratch. In the next phase, the best of the general-use applications such as word-processors and accounting programs emerged as feature-rich, pre-packaged solutions that could be obtained for very little cost. These software makers added more and more options and a few ways to integrate with other applications. Recently, the trend has been toward "extensible software", software designed up front to do the majority of what is needed plus a way to customize and add-on to the software to tailor it to a business' unique needs.

What Kind of Software does EPS Write?
EPS develops custom software and software extensions. We don't compete with software that you can purchase off-the-shelf. SharePoint customization and extension is a good example of how EPS provides development services for tasks above a technician's level of knowledge.
